Ryan Charles Kelly MBA

Founder & CEO

Ryan is a highly expert and experienced Business Director.  He has a reputation for holistic business management, evidenced by having brought Spotlight this far, he is exactly the person who can lead it into the future.  Ryan has a deep understanding of the psychological theoretical underpinning behind the Spotlight tool, having a BA(Hon) in Psychology under his belt. His experience and insights enable him to deploy his business skills and experience from his Life Sciences company where he has gained an extremely powerful network within the Diabetes and long-term conditions industry. 

Dr Katharine Barnard PhD

Chief Science Officer

Katharine Barnard, Professor of Health Psychology, specializes in the psychosocial impact and management of illness and long-term conditions. Her longstanding research career spans models of healthcare, process evaluation, quality of life, psychosocial impact, functional health status, psychological burden and their relationship with biomedical outcomes. Recently, Katharine was awarded FDA MDDT qualification for the INSPIRE psychosocial measures, the first such accolade for diabetes.  Katharine is an Expert Advisor to NICE and the FDA; and sits on the editorial boards of several high impact international journals and research advisory boards.   She has published over 220 scientific articles and is often invited to speak at national and international events and scientific conferences.

Managing Director at single disease impact fund (venture philanthropy). Board director and observer experience for 10+ early and later-stage companies in the US, Canada and Europe. Significant previous experience in Europe managing several product launches in interventional cardiology (e.g., DES), and background in cardiac surgery, CRM, others. Global M&A experience.
